HIS STORY

William is a passionate guy. And not only about coffee, but he is also a very successful apiculturist. With 30 colonies of bees, William produces about a ton of honey a year, a delicate treat, and a great mid-day snack when we go for a visit. For him, both coffee and beekeeping are deeply connected. When the flowering occurs, the bees treat themselves while helping promote a healthier harvest.
On the other hand, the bees are able to produce a whiter, clearer, and sweeter honey.

ON THE MAP

Tolima is the third largest coffee producing region of Colombia and accounts for 12% of the country’s annual production. Located in west-central Colombia, this region is fully inscribed by the Andean mountains and the Magdalena river basin, making it rather remote and challenging to access.
Tolima coffee growers are natural and authentic, lovers of their musical culture and proudly cultivate their tradition as well as their coffee characterized for their nutty, tangy, fruity, and creamy-bodied

THE FARM

We were lucky to join him on a hike through the steep terrain near his farm. Don William took us to a nearby river called La China, which becomes a beautiful waterfall.
This is the family business. Both Aminta, William’s wife, and children Mauricio and Geraldine work endlessly continue pushing their limits in terms of quality for both their coffee and honey passions.
